This position is an independent contributor in the areas of Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering and High Performance Computing, tasked with designing, building, administering and maintaining the OFR Hadoop and High Performance Compute clusters. The incumbent is a technical expert in providing business and data architecture, vision, problem anticipation, and problem solving across Treasury/OFR business lines.

Responsibilities

As a Information Technology Specialist, you will:

* Conduct in depth research and analysis of enterprise and data architecture industry trends to help derive sound recommendations that help influence changes needed to ensure that OFR systems adopt solutions that are consistent with industry recognized enterprise and data architecture best practices.
* Design, construct, install, test and maintain highly scalable data analytics and management systems.
* Provides technical leadership during the development phases of new and existing systems to recommend the adoption of available security capabilities, and controls that minimize vulnerabilities and impact from cyber threats.
* Lead projects related to creating, updating, and maintaining data catalogs, metadata repositories for OFR Hadoop and High Performance Compute clusters, and collaborates with other business areas to converge insights and best practices supporting enterprise information program goals and objectives.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized experience: For the OR-60 (GS-14), you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the OR-53 (GS-13) grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:

* Experience administrating, configuring, operating, and maintaining Cloudera Hadoop Clusters or EMR.; AND
* Experience developing and supporting code and analyses SPARK in Python (PySPARK) or R (RSPARK).; AND
* Experience developing analytics in Python.

In addition to meeting specialized experience, applicants must also show proficiency in 1) attention to detail, 2) customer service, 3) oral communication, and 4) problem solving.
