Summary:

The Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) will support the customer through the Certification and Accreditation (C&A) process, technical reviews, System Security Plans (SSPs), and review and correct plans of action and milestones (POAMs) to support the success of the different programs. The ISSO helps establish the guidelines that the C&A process will follow.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Draft and review all C&A documentation and providing security lifecycle support to ensure security is appraised in all phases from concept through decommissioning.
* Provide advice and assistance in developing SSPs, CONOPS, and test plans according to C&A lifecycle best practices.
* Assist in obtaining approvals and ensure federal, state and local information security and CI controls are implemented.
* Develop, implement, review and evaluate System Security Plans, Interconnection Security Agreements, Risk Assessments, Plan of Actions and Milestones (POAM), System Requirements Traceability Matrix (SRTM), Security Assessment Reports, Contingency Plans as well as other required documentation to satisfy Certification and Accreditation (C&A)/Assessment and Authorization (A&A) requirements in accordance with government policies and procedures.
* Achieve and maintain ATO (Authority to Operate), as required.
* Perform IS security briefings, report all security incidents to the ISSM (Information Systems Security Manager), and investigate, document and report, as well as provide protective and corrective measures in response to such incidents
* Communicate and enforce security policies, procedures based on NIST RMF standards
* Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: (To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.)

* Bachelor's degree with 8 years' experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or closely related field
* Years' experience may be used in lieu of degree
* 8 years of IA/IS experience
* Experience supporting the development of accreditation packages through the RMF process
* Active TS/SCI Clearance required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

* Must be well organized, an effective communicator at multiple levels and able to grasp system concepts and communicate their applications
* Must be capable of quickly learning new systems and associated software applications for proficient execution of tasks
* Must be capable of managing multiple projects with time related constraints in a fast- paced contract manufacturing environment
* Must be able to speak effectively before groups of internal and/or external customers or employees

* The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.
* During visits to areas of operations, may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
