Job Description

Minimum Qualifications

* High School diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate.(Must provide proof at time of interview).
* Six (6) years of full-time work experience in one of the following fields: technical security control architecture and design; information security solutions engineering; security solutions engineering; security technology implementation; security service delivery; or security application development.
* Valid driver's license.(Must provide proof at time of interview).

OR

* Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's Degree.(Must provide original college/university transcript at time of interview)*
* Four (4) years of full-time work experience in one of the following fields: technical security control architecture and design; information security solutions engineering; security solutions engineering; security technology implementation; security service delivery; or security application development.
* Valid driver's license.(Must provide proof at time of interview).

OR

* Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree. (Must provide original college/university transcript at time of interview)*
* Two (2) years of full-time work experience in one of the following fields: technical security control architecture and design; information security solutions engineering; security solutions engineering; security technology implementation; security service delivery; or security application development.
* Valid drivers' license.(Must provide proof at time of interview).

Preferred Qualifications

* An Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Science, or Management Information Systems.
* Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA); Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH); Global Information Assurance Certification Incident Handler (GCIH); or Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certifications; Certification as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
* Experience with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST); Payment Card Industry (PCI); Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA); Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX); International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 27001; Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA); or the Illinois Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
* Degrees awarded outside of the United States with the exception of those awarded in one of the United States' territories and Canada must be credentialed by an approved U.S. credential evaluation service belonging to the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or the Association of International Credential Evaluators (AICE). Original credentialing documents must be presented at time of interview.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS

Knowledge of IT security theory; technologies; policies and best practices; and enterprise architectures. Knowledge of network architecture, operations and protocols. Knowledge of secure network/systems configuration management, as well as an understanding of networking concepts and devices. Ability to work 24/7 including holidays and weekends. Knowledge of application development methodologies and regulatory regulations. Knowledge of incident handling and response. Knowledge of active directory environments as well as virtual and mobile technologies. Knowledge of Information Security functions and complex enterprise architecture security lockdowns. Skill in time management as it relates to incidents. Ability to work independently and simultaneously to manage multiple complex projects at different phases. Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to document requirements, designs, communication plans, project plans, project status reports and other relevant project-related issues. Excellent problem solving skills.

This position requires moderate to extensive travel to work assignments throughout Cook County.
