HPC Engineer

Job Description

Tower Research Capital, a high-frequency proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, seeks a HPC Engineer to join our Compute and Development Platform team.

The Compute and Development Platform team is responsible for the research and development tools and compute and storage resources.

Responsibilities

* Monitoring and supporting a large-scale (thousands of machines, petabytes of data) research and development environment critical for trading strategy development
* Working closely with quants and traders to understand, troubleshoot, and optimize their workloads
* Collecting and analyzing logs and metrics to determine further improvements
* Engineering improvements to the research cluster and new cluster setups in public clouds.

Qualifications

The following qualifications are necessary:

* A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, such as computer engineering, electrical engineering, or mathematics
* Strong technical skills with proven analytical and troubleshooting capabilities
* Hands-on knowledge of Unix or Linux
* Experience developing or modifying software in a Linux environment
* Good client-facing communication skills

The following qualifications are a plus:

* Experience with system configuration or administration tools or infrastructure-as-code practices
* Experience setting up infrastructure in public clouds
* Experience working on an HPC cluster
* Experience developing or modifying software in a Linux environment

Financial experience is not required
