Job Summary

The Help Desk Technician Staff provides exceptional support to users across the organization. This position provides support to all users experience problems with application software, various operating systems, business productivity software, network and Wi-Fi connectivity and other computer-related technology.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

* Provide software support to approximately 500 local users and 40 remote locations
* Configure, troubleshoot, isolate, repair, and resolve all customer desktop issues including desktop/laptop hardware and software, mobile devices, printer/scanners/copiers, audio visual equipment, hardware peripherals and other desktop related equipment
* Upgrade and maintain PC's, Windows terminals, printers, and cabling
* Demonstrate the ability to appropriately escalate issues
* Walk users through problem-solving process
* Ensure ticket documentation is accurate and thorough
* Answers Help Desk tickets and inquiries
* Maintain accurate records of hardware resources
* Develop and maintain a diverse range of systems and services
* Must display the highest level of diplomacy, tact and discretion, with comfort in handling and maintaining confidential information
* Completes special projects and participates in application testing as time permits.
* Other duties as assigned

Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements

To be considered for the Help Desk Technician Staff position, the following conditions must be met:

* 2-3 years of experience in a Microsoft environment
* PC software installation and support experience
* High School diploma required, Associates degree and basic certs optional, but preferred such as A+, Network +, Security +, etc.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
* Ability to work well with the end users via in person, phone, support ticket and chat
* Industry certifications examples JAMF, Network+, Microsoft desired.
* Organized and able to keep others organized with ability to prioritize effectively
* Must be able to communicate effectively and conduct yourself professionally, with excellent written and verbal communications
* Demonstrate critical thinking and independent thinking skills to anticipate and resolve issues
* Utilizes strong time management and organizational skills to successfully multi-task
* Maintain business poise and professionalism under stressful situations
* Must have a valid driver's license

Equipment

* Personal desktop computers, fax machine, copy machine, calculator, writing instruments, telephone, and various printers.
* Issued safety equipment

Safety

* This position is a largely sedentary; however, caution needs to be taken when listing files, boxes, opening file cabinet drawers, desk drawers.
* To avoid injuries to hands, back and neck, proper ergonomics should be maintained while working at desk/workstation.

Work Environment

* Primarily works in an office environment with controlled climate.
* Ability to perform light hand activity work at a computer/telephone station in an office environment. Position is primarily sedentary.
* Some duties may involve being in a plant environment where noise levels can be moderate to high and be subject to the same general climate conditions of the region (heat, cold, humidity, etc.).
* Chemicals, dust, pollen and other typical airborne particulate matter are present within the atmosphere of the production floor and may create some odors in the plant. The Company, in an effort to provide its employees with a safe and healthy working environment, limits exposure to chemicals through written procedures, engineering controls and PPE.
* While the chemical exposure and odors are under acceptable levels set by OSHA and the WCB, they nevertheless, can be smelled and are handled according to the company's hazardous communication program.
