JOB TITLE: VP - Head of US Cyber

REPORTS TO: Group Head of Cyber

JOB PURPOSE: The US Head of Cyber Insurance, in conjunction with the Group Head of Cyber will design and set the US strategy and direction for all Cyber and Technology Errors and Omissions Insurance underwritten from the US. This position will reside within Colony Specialty, the Excess and Surplus Segment in the US for Argo Group. The position will report to the President of the E&S Segment and the Group Head of Cyber within the matrix management system. Effective leadership in the recruitment, management and development of staff, internal processes, producer relationships and underwriting results will be the critical success factors for this position.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Create and influence organization and culture to develop Cyber insurance underwriting capabilities.
* Identify risks and system needs, define solutions and appropriate standards, and establish policies and procedures for the US.
* Assist in managing the ongoing relationship with breach response and data modelling vendors and leverage their capabilities to the best advantage of the Company.
* Participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities for the Cyber insurance segment.
* Interact internally and externally with senior level management, requiring negotiation of extremely critical matters.
* Influence policymaking.
* Manage relationships with 3rd party providers of service delivery and security monitoring and/or tools to ensure assets are being protected for our customers.
* Stay on top of industry trends and help determine forward-looking strategies.
* Participate in Financial Services and/or other industry/governmental information forums.
* Support enterprise risk management with ongoing risk analysis for corporate functional and technical areas relevant to information security.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

* Minimum of 10 years of professional lines/specialty insurance/risk management knowledge, ideally with a strong familiarity with cyber risks and the means of managing them effectively.
* Bachelor's degree preferred in Business. Advanced degree or certifications strongly preferred.
* A diverse cyber security background is preferred with familiarity in several areas including: developing and implementing layered security architecture; internet protocols; firewalls; VPN technologies, anti-virus and spam technologies; risk and vulnerability assessments and compliance.
* Experience with threat awareness and detection tools & techniques, developing and testing incident response plans and knowledge of ISAC's and similar threat information sharing forums.
* Outstanding leadership skills coupled with the strategic perspective necessary to galvanize a disparate array of resources around a common vision.
* Strong commercial skills and instincts coupled with a bottom-line orientation.
* Entrepreneurial, but with the organizational savvy required to operate effectively in a matrixed environment.
* Ability to evaluate risks to the company and articulate issues, develop consensus, raise awareness, and provide and implement solutions.
* Ability to deliver target outcomes on time and on-budget.
* Strong business acumen; full understanding of the financial and performance implications of information security-related decisions; capable of developing complete cost/benefit analyses and other key assessments.
* Experience building roadmaps and implementing strategic business goals.
* Superior ability to effectively partner with executive team across the organization.
* Knowledge and understanding of relevant legal, regulatory and privacy laws and standards including PCS/DSS GDPR, GLBA, and HIPAA.
* Ability to travel.
