Job Description

Nasdaq is continuously revolutionizing markets and undergoing transformations while we adopt new technologies to develop innovative solutions, constantly aiming to rewrite tomorrow. A key strategic objective is to better align all of software engineering, in order to deliver our solutions in the European markets. To accomplish this we are looking for a strategic leader and change agent to build and run the Nasdaq Global Technology strategy for European markets. A critical aspect of our technological transformation includes adopting cloud technology; we want to bring in a person who embraces the opportunity to challenge traditional ways of working and implement change by utilizing their technological expertise and exceptional leadership.

As the leader for Nasdaq's European Software Engineering team, your key focus areas and goals will be the modernization of the Nordic trading, clearing and surrounding systems. To be successful in this role, you should thrive and be energized working in a mission critical environment and be willing to constantly go outside your comfort zone. This role will require you to navigate a complex matrixed environment and work closely with development teams, while managing other key stakeholder relationships.

This position will be part of the global leadership team, which is challenged to drive the creation of innovative solutions while adhering to guidelines and regulations. In this role, you will be integrated with the business while also being responsible for the successful development and delivery of our technology; therefore, we expect you to be aligned with business objectives and aid in further developing Nasdaq's strategy through transformational leadership, global collaboration and client centered solutions.

As a newly created role, you will have a tremendous impact of building and deciding the organizational structure and on how Nasdaq will obtain agreement and prioritization of technology investments for the short and long-term planning.

Further Responsibilities:

* Lead teams of software engineers to deliver best in class software and services.
* Achieve high service levels while taking into account different asset classes, market parameters, performance requirements, and regulatory aspects.
* Contribute to the transformation of the Nordic trading, clearing and surrounding systems which will include: Migration to the Nasdaq Financial Framework suite of applications, adoption of public cloud infrastructure, separation of trading and clearing systems, adoption of Nasdaq's surrounding systems target state.

What you will bring into this role:

* Leadership experience with the ability to lead change successfully and to build high performing teams through inspirational and value driven leadership.
* Extensive Software Engineering working experience, you should possess deep knowledge of technology trends and competitive landscape and make technology decisions to drive global opportunities and competitive advantages for our clients.
* Experience working within Capital markets
* Familiarity with mission critical systems and 24x7 application support is considered meriting
