With this in mind, we are looking for a Head of Machine Learning (ML) to drive MINDBODY's ML initiatives across our organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with the CTO and other key stakeholders to identify strategic initiatives, build world-class teams, and deliver innovative products that will help us connect the world to wellness.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

* 10 + years of experience managing high-output teams
* 7+ years of experience using ML to solve complex problems for large-scale applications
* Master's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or Computational Theory (Ph.D. Preferred)
* Deep understanding of system performance and scaling
* Comfortable programming in at least two modern programming languages
* Experience with commonly used scripting languages
* Experience with large-scale systems architecture
* Knowledge of Amazon Web Services or Azure
* Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, professional environment
* Exceptional organizational skills, along with time management and communication skills
* Self-aware and able to adapt personal style and approach to partners and team
* Ability to juggle multiple and changing priorities
* Equally dedicated to the big picture strategy as well as the execution of the details of a project
* Capacity to work in a fast-paced, often-changing environment

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Build and manage a Machine Learning organization focused on bringing exciting new product features to life and scaling complex technical solutions
* Strong persuasion skills and can change the thinking or, or gain acceptance from others in sensitive situations, while maintaining the relationship
* Be a champion for and establish team metrics for that excellence; including a consistent, regular process for assessment and improvement
* Evangelize ML best practices and customer centricity and inspires others to make tough decisions
* Show strong design, business and technical judgment that will accelerate the time to market of releases, while incrementally moving our services towards the long-term vision
* Can identify ambiguity, understand root source & broad-ranging impact to ML discipline. Can determine if action is needed or not
* Can expect to travel about 20-30% of the time
* Evangelize prototyped concepts to a diverse audience, in both ad-hoc and formal presentations
* Be receptive to suggestions for changing and improving the way work is accomplished
* Handle crises and stress calmly and effectively
* Encourage and supports others to take on responsibility, authority, and accountability
* Participates in developing procedures and/or policies for ML discipline
* Regularly interacts with executives and/or customers. Enables and supports connections across the company
* Provides guidance in areas of selection, promotion, development, and termination. Effective at selecting and developing talent

* Develops standards of service delivery beyond those generally accepted
