We are looking for our Head of Infrastructure and DevOps to own and scale Earnest's Cloud Infrastructure, DevOps tools and CI/CD process in support of our next stage of growth. We need a leader who possesses both deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure and best practices for scaling systems including ITSM. This executive will report directly to the CTO, VP of Engineering, and be based out of San Francisco. They will serve as a senior member of the engineering team and work closely with our engineer, data, and security teams as we roll out amazing products!!

As the Head of Infrastructure you will report to the CTO, VP of Engineering and:

* Inspire and lead our Infra/DevOps teams with vision, passion, and drive.
* Build out our Infrastructure and DevOps teams in SF and SLC.
* Lead and drive the ITSM and DevOps processes.
* In collaboration with the CTO, assess the current and long term infrastructure and IT needs for the organization and build a defensible strategy, and operating plan.
* Implement best practices for delivery, availability and service management including ITSM and DevOps.
* Mature our 24x7 on-call strategy for all essential services.
* Improve our end-to-end service availability and performance tracking solution.
* Proactively assess potential issues in with product delivery, patching, and other changes to mitigate or detect and reduce remediation times.
* Enable our modeling and data team with sandboxed, scalable environments.
* Be aware of the latest technologies and champion those which can enable engineering and infrastructure wins.

Ideal Candidate:

* 8+ years of proven experience running a production environment and a team of 10 or more
* 4+ years of experience in hiring, leading and mentoring accomplished engineers
* Strong desire to learn, understand new technologies and mentor others
* Hands-on technical experience combined with strong management skills
* Experience with best practices such as DevOps and ITSM
* Experience with incident management and postmortem process
* Experience with troubleshooting complex application problems
* Experience with Amazon Web Services (EC2, RDS, CloudFront, S3, etc.)
* Experience with Node.js, Docker, Terraform, Nginx, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible
