Head of Application and Platform Engineering

Position Overview:

The Climate Corporation is revolutionizing the agriculture industry with a platform and products that are helping the world's farmers sustainably increase productivity with digital tools. We are looking for an individual to lead and grow a team of experienced and talented engineers and leaders to deliver an outstanding FieldView experience for growers, dealers, and industry partners. In this role, you'll partner closely with our Product and Design leaders to ensure we are building the most delightful products in the industry.

What You Will Do:

* Lead Engineering teams responsible for the development of web, mobile, and partner APIs for our Fieldview customers
* Collaborate and partner with Engineering, Product, Enterprise and Strategy teams to help define, develop, operate, and scale market-leading digital agriculture products
* Ensure stability of Climate's product through robust, scalable, fault tolerant, performant, and secure software development practices
* Act as an active source of engineering talent and work with recruiting teams to build and scale teams across the organization



Basic Qualifications:

* 10+ years of engineering leadership experience and demonstrated ability to grow and lead a team of engineers
* Experience operating production-scale global systems and applications
* Technical experience in at least one application platform, such as web or mobile (iOS or Android)
* Experience and proven ability to deliver successful, customer-facing applications from concept to scale-up using Agile / Scrum or similar development/management practices
* Hands-on experience building and delivering customer-facing applications
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field

Preferred Qualifications:

* Highly effective collaboration and consensus building skills, working across cross-functional organizations
* Experience in multiple web, mobile (iOS and Android), and API platforms
* Development and DevOps experience with Amazon Web Services
* Knowledge of functional programming
* Hands-on experience with knowledge of at least one compiled JVM language (e.g. Java, Clojure, Scala)
