Description

SAIC is seeking a Systems Engineer with experience leading or supporting a program Functional Configuration Audit (FCA)/Physical Configuration Audit (PCA) to join our team of diverse Global Positioning System (GPS) Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) experts. The GPS SE&I Team provides specialized engineering, analysis, operations support and subject matter expertise to the GPS Directorate. Within the SE&I Team, the System Engineer will report to or become the FCA/PCA Lead and have a leadership role establishing, conducting and maintaining program FCA/PCA's to support the GP Directorate.

DESCRIPTION

* Lead/Manage/Support efforts to complete Functional and Physical Configuration Audits (FCA/PCA) for all GPS programs of record
* Ensure military standard criteria (MIL-STD-973 or equivalent DoD standards) are met and properly addressed
* Evaluate system engineering processes including, but not limited to quality process, software development process, requirements and verification processes
* Lead/Coordinate/Support activities with prime contractors and staff from SE&I, Government, and Federal Funded Research & Development Center (FFRDC)
* Support preparing and presenting engineering and process analyses, gaps, and recommendations to senior leadership
* Support preparation of Government team for FCA/PCA audit, including but not limited to detailed training and guidance on FCA/PCA process.
* Provide Supplemental support to SMEs on Government audit team including but not limited to systems engineering, requirements and verification, and configuration management support
* Reviewing quality processes/procedures for contractor(s) and verifying adherence as FCA/PCA artifacts

Qualifications

* Bachelors' degree in engineering or similar technical degree with minimum of 10+ years relevant experience
* Active Secret Clearance
* Prior experience with FCA/PCA or equivalent audits
* Ability to provide a wide variety of technical analyses and program management support to a government customer
* Demonstrated ability to lead a diverse group of stakeholders through trade study analyses
* Knowledgeable of space-based systems/navigation systems or experience working with GPS systems/elements

Desired Qualifications

* Master Degree (MS) in engineering or science with minimum of 12+ years of aerospace industry engineering experience
* Familiarity and experience working with DoD acquisition organizations
* Knowledgeable in SW development processes as they apply to acquisition of DoD programs
* Experience designing and testing GPS systems or elements
* Lead subject matter experts, stakeholders, and customers throughout the process of coordinating the GPS Systems Engineering Plan (SEP) and associated prime contractors' Systems Engineering Management Plans (SEMPs)
