Description

Nelson Intelligence Solutions has a career opportunity for a Geospatial Engineer in the Northern Virginia area. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with a multi-disciplined team of analysts to independently select and extrapolate intelligence and operations production data and present summaries as required. The candidate must possess the ability to follow established geospatial data production processes for content analysis, validation, cleansing, collection and reporting. Analyze and validate data content and assemble new content from various sources, including databases, files/spreadsheets, and websites. Adhere to stringent quality control guidelines.

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS or equivalent military training and experience (4 years of experience in lieu of degree).
* Proficient with the Esri product line, including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and related desktop extensions
* Experienced with automated cartography, computer science, programming, and spatial analysis
* Possess the ability to clearly communicate technical ideas, whether t other technical peers or non-technical project managers or customers
* Relevant experience in the following: Geospatial Analysis, Intelligence Community, geospatial data formats, ESRI ArcGIS10 and personal Geodatabases, intelligence fusion analysis and NGA data products and standards

Preferred Additional Skills

* Background in software support or technical customer service with direct end user contact
* Experience with data conversion / migration
* Knowledge of Linux, UNIX, and Windows operating systems; Python scripting; SQL
