SAIC, in support of the Remote Sensing (RS) Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) team in El Segundo, CA, has an immediate need for a Future Ground Systems Engineer. This individual will be a Systems Engineer with experience in Department of Defense (DoD) Space-Based systems. Candidate will provide SE&I support to Future OPIR Enterprise programs in support of the Space and Missile Systems Center Remote Sensing Directorate (SMC/RS). Candidate will support FORGE ground architecture development and enterprise integration activities for SMC/RS ground, space, operations, logistics, and sustainment elements to identify and support the management of risks, issues, and interdependencies. Candidate should have experience with ground and space system acquisition. Duties include:
* Interacting with development contractors and government project engineers to ensure system requirements are coordinated and understood.
* Identifying and assessing technical, schedule, and cost risks and associated impacts to the system and developing courses of action to mitigate the risks.
* Performing technical reviews, and assessments; coordinating analyses efforts, methods, and techniques; developing products and briefings; and performing technical engagement with, and briefings for and to, government customers, stakeholders, and prime contractors.
* Collaborating with prime contractors, other support contractors, government civilians, and members of the U.S. Air Force.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree is required. BS in Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical, Communications Engineering (technical), Math, Physics, or similar
* 9+ years of strong demonstrated systems engineering experience
* Active Top Secret Clearance
* Experience with the acquisition and deployment of space, Weather, OPIR, and ground systems.
* Proactive engineer who takes the initiative to identify, own and solve customer problems.
* Strong interpersonal skills to enable working, interfacing, and interrelating with diverse personnel and dynamic teams.
* Experience writing and delivering technical documents and briefings.
