Full Stack Software Engineer

Capital One's Center for Machine Learning team is expanding and we're looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer with a passion for technology, design, and learning to join our team!

For this role, Capital One is looking for a Software Engineer to provide full stack expertise on building Machine Learning based software and services. We're looking for eager talent to come onboard our growing team to advance our Machine Learning agenda to support critical business functions within Capital One.

As a Capital One Software Engineer, you'll work on large scale reliable applications that impact the way that Capital One does business. You will participate in the detailed technical design, development and implementation of applications using emerging technologies such as: Java, Docker, Golang, Python, RESTAPI, JSON, XML, HTML / HTML5, CSS, Serverless, NoSQL databases, relational databases, Chef, Terraform, Maven, and AWS/Cloud Infrastructure to name a few.

In this Full Stack role you will:

* Write code (delivering elegant and scalable solutions in Java, JavaScript and Python to name a few)
* Demand quality (developing in a test driven manner with automation in mind),

* Learn (adapting quickly to an evolving market and emerging trends)
* Work with product owners to understand desired application capabilities and testing scenarios
* Continuously improve software engineering practices
* Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across a full-stack of development tools and technologies

* Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor Degree or Military experience
* At least 3 years of experience programming in Java/Python
* At least 2 years of experience in Agile practices

Preferred Qualifications:

* 1+ year of experience in an AWS cloud environment
* 1+ year of experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Maven, or Artifactory
* 1+ year of experience with RESTAPI
* 1+ UI development using HTML/CSS/Javascript/AngularJS
