About the Team:
The Williams-Sonoma Data Engineering organization is seeking an energetic and talented software engineer (full stack, front-end, or back-end) to help deliver high value, high-quality features to our Data Platform. Engineers working at WSI get to work full-stack, extending our front-end user experience all the way through to enterprise services and data platform that supports personalization, machine learning, and other analytic functions.
About the Role:
As a Software Engineer in the Data Platform organization, you'll join a Scrum team building features and automated tests of those features. You'll work closely with senior engineers and Product Managers to understand user stories and assist in programming the features. Through programming and code reviews you'll be able to expand your skills and grow as an engineer.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Technical Competencies required:
* A sound foundation of Algorithms and Data Structures
* 5+ years of professional experience in some of the following technologies: Java, Elasticsearch, NoSQL databases, Caching, API frameworks, Graph Databases, and data-driven visualization (such as D3.js)
* Working knowledge of build systems such as Maven, SBT, and Gradle.
* Working experience with big data systems such as Spark, Scala, and Kafka are a big plus!
* An understanding of source code management and other core programming practices
* Enthusiasm for constant improvement as a Software Engineer
* Ability to review and understand proposed designs and offer thoughtful feedback in a collegial fashion
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
