ABOUT THE JOB:

Liberty Mutual's GRM US Agent & Customer Technology team is seeking a motivated Full Stack Developer to be part of a mature Agile team working on challenging, creative projects, including building out a modern, architecture as well as cloud-native microservices for Safeco agency data needs.

As a Software Developer, you will be responsible for all stages of the development lifecycle, from reviewing business requirements, to design, to construction and test, to deployment. The individual should have a real passion for quality and development who enjoys working in a collaborative, team-based environment. The industry changes quickly, so we are looking for you to respond to change, pick up new technologies quickly, and adapt to changing requirements. We also want you to take pride in their work and have strong design and development expertise. We value quality code delivery and expect you to demonstrate competence at writing, testing and debugging their code.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Full-stack development with a focus on back-end services


* Actively participate in Agile ceremonies to remove blockers, refine stories, plan Sprints, and demo functionality to diverse business partners


* Manage deployments through a CI/CD pipeline


* Solve and resolve defects/bugs


* Support periodic off-hours production deployments



DESIRED SKILLS:

* Bachelor's Degree in technical discipline preferably computer science or software development


* Generally 3 years of professional development experience in Java/J2EE


* Dedicated, and consistently demonstrates initiative to take ownership of resolving issues and gaps


* Extensive knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, methodologies, architectures and technical standards


* Knowledge in web service design and development


* Experience with real-time architecture, familiarity with MongoDB or similar NoSQL Databases


* Foundational knowledge or proficient in new and emerging technologies such as AWS/Azure, SpringBoot, DevOps, CI/CD (Jenkins), and MicroServices


* Helpful experience includes migration from Batch MQ to Kafka continuous event feeds


* Excellent analytical, problem solving, communication, and collaboration skills


* General knowledge of agile software development concepts and processes (especially Scrum)


* Experience with layered system architectures and layered solutions; understanding of shared software concepts
