FULL STACK DEVELOPER Make a living and a difference…at The Fellowship!

Your experience in front and back end web development will aid The Fellowship in continuing their mission, helping more than a million Jews around the world.

In the Full Stack Developer role, your will ensure an excellent donor experience on all of our web properties, creating new templates and site functionality, responding to bug fix requests, and ensuring brand consistency. Additionally, you will create, update, and test current forms, ensuring validated data and securely transmitted data to databases via API enpoints. Lastly, you will work to improve site conversion, incorporating industry best practices and stakeholder needs, implementing multi-variant tests, and updating sites with the winning version.

Some key areas of focus for this role include:

* Creating new functionality and layouts including:
* planning stakeholder interviews
* gathering requirements
* determining technical requirements
* researching API documentation / Learn necessary languages
* creating project timelines
* creating client facing design and structure
* creating connections to databases to transmit data
* validating information received and transmitted
* performing testing on multiple different browsers and devices


* Troubleshooting errors and bus to include:
* reviewing server logs, error logs
* consulting with vendors to determine potential source of error
* testing with in different environments to determine the source of the error


* Researching new technologies, learning new web development languages/frameworks, and staying up-to-date on industry best practices
* Creating new templates for HTML email marketing, implementing multi-variant sites tests, and reviewing site for errors and to ensure brand consistency

As the ideal candidate, you'll possess these qualities and experience:

* Bachelor's degree strongly desired or equivalent experience. Preferred disciplines include computer/information science or related field of study or related certifications
* 4+ years of front and backend development experience in web technologies
* Advanced understanding of WordPress and its architecture (i.e. themes, plugins, custom post types, etc.)
* Intermediate to advanced understanding of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
* Intermediate to advanced understanding of Apache or nginx, MySQL/MariaDB and PHP
* Intermediate to advanced understanding of JavaScript libraries and frameworks like jQuery, D3, Angular, React, Ember, Vue; React is preferred
* Intermediate to advanced understanding of CSS frameworks and development techniques like Bootstrap 4/5, Foundation 5/6, Skeleton and LESS/SASS; Bootstrap and SASS is preferred
* Familiarity working in visualized or containerize development environments like VirtualBox, VMWare Hyper-V or Docker; Docker is preferred
* Solid experience using Linux environments
* Solid experience using responsive design techniques beyond the implementation of a CSS framework
* Intermediate to advanced understanding of REST APIs, from both an implementation and development perspective
* Experience with development project lifecycle (design, development, staging, production)
* Solid experience managing development workflows using version control systems like Git and Subversion with Git as a preference
* Solid experience testing and reviewing code
* Solid experience using project management software like Jira, Trello or Pivotal Tracker
* Ability to translate stakeholder project requests into actionable backlog items
* Ability to translate development best practices and restrictions to stakeholders and offer possible solutions
* Ability to prioritize tasks within current organizational priorities and respond quickly and accurately
* Strong analytical skills and sound judgment
* Ability to be self-starting and do independent research and learn new technologies
* Ability to clearly document and explain your work
