Job Description

Kindle Comics Core Store team is looking for a Front End Engineer to join our web/SOA development team focusing on designing and implementing innovative features that differentiate the store experience for comics, graphic novel and manga fans. Our goal is to provide exciting, innovative and diverse work to keep both our engineers and consumers engaged. We promise you will not be bored; in fact your efforts will directly impact our millions of users who rave about our products as much as we do.

What You'll Do:

* Join a team of talented software engineers responsible for the design, development, and testing of customer store and account web and Kindle surfaces.
* Decompose problems into clear software and UX design actions.
* Push for information to avoid solving the wrong problem and mitigate UI risks early in the process to avoid feature delays.
* The ideal candidate will be instrumental in shaping the product direction and will be actively involved in defining key product features that impact the business.
* You will be responsible for maintaining a high software quality bar besides providing technical direction to a highly technical team of Software Development Engineers.

You must be able to:

* Have strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
* Understand how to optimize the delivery of code and assets (e.g., images, fonts) to a browser or device (e.g., lazy loading assets, using CDNs, caching, compression, etc.). Knows how to instrument software with real user metrics to reflect the customer experience.
* Have solid coding practices including peer code reviews, unit testing, and a preference for agile development.
* Have the ability to clearly and concisely communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
* Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through launch of the project.
