Kindle Comics Core Store team is looking for a Front End Engineer to join our web/SOA development team focusing on designing and implementing innovative features that differentiate the store experience for comics, graphic novel and manga fans. What You'll Do:
* Join a team of talented software engineers responsible for the design, development, and testing of customer store and account web and Kindle surfaces. * Decompose problems into clear software and UX design actions. * Push for information to avoid solving the wrong problem and mitigate UI risks early in the process to avoid feature delays. * The ideal candidate will be instrumental in shaping the product direction and will be actively involved in defining key product features that impact the business. * You will be responsible for maintaining a high software quality bar besides providing technical direction to a highly technical team of Software Development Engineers.
You must be able to:
* Have strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills. * Understand how to optimize the delivery of code and assets (e.g., images, fonts) to a browser or device (e.g., lazy loading assets, using CDNs, caching, compression, etc.). Knows how to instrument software with real user metrics to reflect the customer experience. * Have solid coding practices including peer code reviews, unit testing, and a preference for agile development. * Have the ability to clearly and concisely communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders across all levels of the organization. * Ability to take a project from scoping requirements through launch of the project.
