Maxar is looking for a mid-level Front-End Application Developer to work with a team creating and automating a geospatial routing and terrain characterization mobility application for a Department of Defense mission customer and the war fighter. The front end developer will continue development of a browser-based single-page application (SPA) that allows the user to view and manipulate geospatial information (think Mapbox or ArcGIS Online alternative). The work location will be in Arlington, VA, with periodic visits to the customer site.

What you will do:

* Add new features/fixes to an SPA built with TypeScript, React v16, Redux, Leaflet, and web workers.
* Implement new RESTful endpoints in a Python (Flask)-based web service backed by Postgres/PostGIS.
* Support devops duties on AWS.
* Communicate with team mates using GitLab, Jira, Confluence, and Slack.
* Use agile development, and participate in a bi-monthly sprint workflow.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Must be a U.S Citizen & be willing and able to obtain a security clearance.
* Requires 3 years of development experience.
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related field. 4 additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
* Familiarity with basic front-end concepts (HTTP, HTML/CSS, how the DOM works, how to use the browser's dev tools).
* 2+ years experience with React.
* 2+ years experience with Leaflet.
* Experience with TypeScript, ES6+, ES modules.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Familiarity with Redux
* Familiarity with wireframing and/or graphic design tools (Balsamiq, Sketch, etc.).
* Familiarity with Postgres and RDBMS concepts.
* Familiarity with Python.
* Familiarity with Docker.
