Job Description

Rosemount™ Measurement & Analytical, a business unit of Emerson Automation Solutions, is currently seeking a Field Service Technician.

Rosemount™ is a signature brand of Emerson, offering a comprehensive line of measurement instrumentation, analyzers and systems which are used in a wide range of applications found in critical processing facilities such as refineries, chemical plants, power plants, pipelines, and more.

Description

The Rosemount Field Service Technician role is responsible for overall support of our customer's instrumentation installed based to ensure customer's expectations are met and exceeded to the highest level of professionalism. The individual in this position is responsible for a variety of duties on-site at customer locations. This includes building customer relationships through solutions-oriented communications as well as troubleshooting and repairing Rosemount Measurement instruments, products, and systems. Travel will be required.

Major areas of accountability:

* Provide technical assistance on Rosemount products and process applications to customers.
* Provide diagnostic, troubleshooting, calibration, and start-up commissioning services.
* Provide support of local installed base and recommend approaches on repair, replace and upgrades.
* Provide informal and on-the-job customer training.
* Full understanding of available service programs.
* Effectively utilizes technical skills and abilities to advance relationships with Sales and customers.
* Participate in field service callas, as required, at customer sites. Will require overnight stays from time to time.
* Proper completion of all required reports, certificates, and relevant documents.
* Adherence to all safety, quality, company rules and regulations.
* Responsible for personal safety and those around him/her.
* Participation and involvement in company Safety and Quality programs.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Information:

* This position requires frequent travel, up to 50%.

Requirements:

* Associates degree in Instrumentation or 1800 hours of technical schooling is required.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

* Knowledge of analyzing, evaluating, diagnosing, and resolving equipment and process related problems are necessary.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer relation skills are a must.
* Ability to develop high-level knowledge of all Rosemount product lines.
* Understanding of business to business service environment.
* Ability to work in high pressure environments and to work effectively within a team.
* Willingness to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays, and nights.
* Proficiency in MS Office applications.
* Valid drivers license.

Physical Requirements:

* Normal office and shop environments as well as frequent customer site trips, involving driving company vehicles, climbing, and manual dexterity work.
* Ability to lift up to a maximum of 40 lbs. without assistance.
* Repeated lifting, bending, and stooping.
* Ability to work in all climates.
