Every day, in nearly 100 countries around the world, millions of people depend on Daktronics scoring and display systems for information and entertainment. Our displays provide vital travel information in airports and train stations and along highways. They advertise the price of gas, store specials, and more as you make your daily commute. They also enhance spectators' experiences at sporting events of all kinds, from Little League to the major leagues.

As a Field Service and Remote Engineer, you'll provide on-site maintenance and remote technical support services to our amazing customers - including exciting professional and collegiate sports teams.

Your schedule may include nights and weekends.

* You may be scheduled to support weekend work 20 or more weekend days per year providing onsite support or remote technical support.

The desired location for this position will be in Northern Illinois (Chicago, Bloomington).

Some of the on-site supported venues in the coverage area would be (but not limited to):

* Chicago Cubs/Wrigley Field
* United Center
* University of Illinois
* Northern Illinois University
* Northwestern University
* Loyola University
* Onsite support consists of Maintenance of Daktronics equipment.
* Provide on-site technical and maintenance services for all display and control equipment.
* You will be dispatched to customer sites for unplanned service, installation support and event support activities.
* Your schedule may include nights, weekends, event support and on-call situations.


* Remote support of Daktronics equipment and customers.
* Provide technical phone support to internal and external customers from all over the world as scheduled.
* Ensure responsiveness and first-time resolution to customers' request for technical support primarily through incoming and proactive outbound calls.
* Troubleshoot and solve simple to highly complex hardware and software technical issues using logical troubleshooting approach with attention to detail.
* Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience. Provide software application installation/configuration support along with "how to" assistance.


* Follow our standardized procedures for each customer interaction and service event, including case documentation.
* Gain detailed technical knowledge of Daktronics displays and controllers through formal classroom and online training as well as through on the job training.
* Assist as requested in training Service Partners and other technical staff. Use your excellent communications skills to competently represent Daktronics to customers, providing a positive service experience each time.
* Work effectively as a team member assisting when and where needed. Become knowledgeable about and follow company procedures.
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

* Bachelor in Electronics Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, or similar engineering degree.
* Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver's license and good driving record. Motor vehicle records will be checked.
* Must be able to get a passport.
* Able to work at heights or from a ladder and able to carry ladder/tools/parts from vehicle to work site.
* Ability to lift, carry and move up to 65 pounds.
* Ability to work in a variety of environments, including cold/hot weather, small spaces.
* Available to work evenings and/or weekends to support facility schedules. May include working with short-notice and on-call responsibilities.
* Must be able to:
* Communicate effectively in a variety of settings.
* Confident under pressure, able to handle stressful situations in a professional manner.
* Show personal commitment to continuously improve.
* Display a can do attitude in good and bad time.
* Must be able to complete work responsibilities with little supervision. Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment.
* Strong computer skills: Internet navigation, word processing, spreadsheets, and Daktronics internal programs.
* Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
