Job Description

Purpose of JobWe are currently seeking talented ETL Engineers - Mid Level for our Plano facility.

As an ETL Engineer, you will work to harden, enhance and support our data and analytics environments, cycles, data quality, dashboards and reports. You will work with team members on projects that include Return-to-Service (RTS) analysis, break-fix enhancements, ETL framework enhancements, data quality enhancements, usage reporting and general design, coding and release/build activities.

Job Requirements

Tasks:

With limited guidance performs defect correction (analysis, design, code) on less complex issues and/or codes applications of medium complexity.

With guidance begins to install, customize and integrate commercial software packages.

Works with more tenured peers to gain understanding of systems while conducting root cause analysis of issues, reviewing new and existing code and/or performing unit testing Works with experienced team members to conduct root cause analysis of issues, review new and existing code and/or perform unit testing.

Learns to create system documentation/play books and attends requirements, design and code reviews.

Receives work packages from manager and/or delegates.

Understands and assists in gathering and analyzing customer requirements and may respond to outages following the appropriate processes.

Partners with experienced team members to develop accurate estimates on work packages.

May begin to identify issues that impact availability.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's degree required.

4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

Minimum Experience:

2 or more years of development experience specific to I/T discipline/technology(s)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

* Bachelor's degree or 4 additional years of I/T experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
* AND, 2+ years of software development experience in a Data discipline with experience utilizing ETL Tools such as Informatica PowerCenter or IBM Datastage

PREFERRED

* 2+ years' experience with DataStage or Informatica
* 2+ years' experience SQL development skills
* Proficient with Unix Scripting (Python, Bash, etc.)
* Proficient in dimensional database design or data modeling
* Exposure to Big Data ecosystems (Hadoop, Hive, Sqoop, etc.), Machine Learning systems, Cloud Services (AWS, Azure, etc.), and/or Data Streaming tools (Kafka, NiFi, etc)
* Experience with Data Visualization tools and best practices
