Job Description

PAY GRADE: IT-1

192 days (EC, Elementary, Middle School)

230 days (High School)

JOB GOAL:

Maintain campus technology equipment and provide technical assistance to campus staff

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent

A + certification

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

Knowledge of installation, troubleshooting, and repair of computer-related equipment and peripherals including, but not limited to, computers, printers, monitors, and CD players

Effective interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

Knowledge of computer operating systems and software applications in use by the district

EXPERIENCE:

Experience with troubleshooting problems with a variety of computer operating systems and hardware configurations

Experience in working with computer networks

MAJOR PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Maintenance and Repair:

1. Set up and maintain the operations of all computer systems and other campus technologies.

2. Coordinate repairs on all computers on the campus.

3. Work with technical services department as needed to assist in major technology installations in the district.

4. Troubleshoot and maintain campus networks.

5. Install licensed software.

6. Assist campus administration in preparing budget for campus technology

7. Maintain inventory of computers, auxiliary equipment and software licenses.

8. Keep current with technology advancements.

9. Keep informed of and comply with state and district policies and regulations, as well as campus procedures, concerning technology and its use

EQUIPMENT USED:

Computer and ancillary computer technology

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Mental Demands:

Lengthy periods of reading and concentration; ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); maintain emotional control under stress; flexibility to deal with constant changes in the field of technology

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Moderate standing, stooping, and bending; Lifting and moving of moderate to heavy equipment; Occasional prolonged use of computer and repetitive hand motions.
