Entry - to Mid-Level Integrator

Job Description

Full-time position working out of Progeny Systems headquarters in Manassas, VA. Progeny is the lead system integrator for the Undersea Warfare Decision Support System (USW-DSS) supporting technology insertion as well as development, integration, training and maintenance. USW-DSS is a DoD Net-Centric Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I) program which provides anti-submarine warfare mission planning and monitoring for US Navy fleet units

The candidate will be working with a multi-organizational engineering team to achieve rapid technology evolution utilizing continuous integration and continuous deployment methods.

Daily responsibilities will include, integration of new capabilities and fixes, independent validation and verification of operational and functional requirements. The candidate should be capable of troubleshooting and clearly documenting problems encountered.

Areas of responsibility include:

* Perform integration of software components, across multiple operating systems (Windows and Linux), hardware configurations (physical and virtual, including networking) and software packages (Java, C++, web services, application servers)
* Verification and validation of testing documentation, including redlining as necessary
* Understanding of the components, sub-systems and the architecture as a whole
* Coordinate and interact with developers as well as engineering managers.
* Support the development of training materials and technical manuals
* Assess and support system maturation through agile processes, including:
* review of automated compilation, deployment and testing results,
* requirements based and operational testing,
* troubleshooting and writing software issue reports,
* supporting the development team bug resolution efforts,
* review and validation of fixes,
* incorporation of fixes into a stable software baseline,
* generating system status reports.

Skills/Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Requirements:

* Understanding of agile DevOps processes.
* Understanding of virtualization technologies
* Must be willing to travel occasionally
* Ability to obtain DOD Security clearance
* Strong oral and written communication skills

Desired Skills:

* Experience as a system integrator
* Familiarity with DoD Cybersecurity requirements
* Proficiency with scripting and automation, e.g. bash, PowerShell, python, and Ansible
* Experience with system resource profiling and source level debugging
* Proficiency with Atlassian Tools (JIRA, Bitbucket, Confluence)
* Experience with Jenkins, SonarQube, Nexus, Maven, Ant
* Experience with C41 Systems

Education/Experience

* Current DoD clearance
* 0-5 years of professional experience
* AS or higher in a technical major. Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field preferred. Demonstrated history as an accomplished system integrator will be considered in lieu of education. Commensurate pay for years of experience.



This position requires the applicant to obtain and maintain a DoD Clearance.
