Job Description

Description:The Field Support Technician is responsible for the introduction of the latest technology to the US Navy Submarine Fleet. These services shall include as a minimum the following Lockheed Martin/Fleet/NAVSEA tasking: On-board Troubleshooting Expertise (including fiber optic and system networking support), Corrective Actions, On-board Maintenance Training, System Software/Hardware support, and system installation actions.

Technical services in support of AN/BQQ-10, BYG-1 and USS Virginia Class sub-systems. Additional tasking will be required in support of Combat and Radar systems.

Installation work requires personnel to be on travel 60% of time. When not on travel, employee will work out of Manassas Virginia, where employee will assist system experts. Applicant must be able to hold a DOD Secret Clearance.

Basic Qualifications:

Mechanical ability as demonstrated by a background in auto mechanics or related studies. Must be able to obtain & maintain a secret security clearance. Obtaining a clearance requires US citizenship.

Desired Skills:

The ability to work independently with little supervision.

Candidate should have excellent mechanical skills, communication and writing skills and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
