As a Hardware Developer at IBM, you'll get to work on the systems that are driving the quantum revolution and the AI era. Join an elite team of engineering professionals who enable IBM customers to make better decisions quicker on the most trusted hardware platform in today's market.

Your Role and Responsibilities

This is a second line management position in the Systems DFT, System Characterization, and Exerciser Development organization in Austin, Tx providing direct management for approximattely 60 technical leaders and engineers reporting through 3 1st level managers. This technical role requires direct communication and collaboration with the IBM POWER & z System Design, Brand, and Program Management team(s).

Key responsibilities include:

Lead development team to deliver DFT, System characterization, and exerciser development for IBM Systems.

Partner / collaborate across IBM system solutions including logic development, technology development, various vendor suppliers, manufacturing team, and program management.

Provide people management for ~60 technical leaders and engineers reporting up through three 1st level managers.

The role requires exceptional communication and presentation skills and the ability to interface effectively with executive management as well as deep engagement and collaboration with its peer teams in Poughkeepsie-NY, Rochester-MN, and India.

Required Professional and Technical Expertise

* 5+ years of computer hardware development experience
* 5+ years in personnel management and/or demonstrated team leadership
* Ability to work cross-functionally to articulate, measure and solve performance issues
* Passion for continuous improvement in building knowledge base both technically and professionally
* Minimum BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience.

* Software/Hardware development project experience
* Knowledge of firmware, procedure, subsystem test
* Agile/ Scrum methodology experience
* Management Experience (5+ yrs.), Knowledge of hardware development and/or characterization, software procedures, system bringup & methodology (2+ yrs.), Characterization (2+ yrs.)
