Job Description

The Enterprise Architect is responsible for the architectural planning, design, implementation, ongoing management and overall transformation of enterprise hybrid cloud services, and infrastructure operations. This role has a hands-on orientation and reports to the Director of Infrastructure Operations.

* Oversee entire Azure/AWS IaaS stack, on premise infrastructure and connectivity between all sites and cloud infrastructure.
* Oversee global networking stack including WAN, LAN, Wireless, MPLS, SDWAN, switching, routing, VPNs and firewalls
* Develop enterprise infrastructure operations roadmaps and solution architecture to ensure service availability, scalability, IT service continuity and overall cost effectiveness of application and service delivery with primary focus on IaaS platforms - AWS and Azure.
* Development of secure enterprise infrastructure including network, compute, storage, virtualization, database, directory, authentication, monitoring, identity, access and remote access services.
* Providing overall technical guidance and leadership in projects involving a variety of infrastructure technologies that supports business applications.
* Handle escalation of incidents, network or infrastructure outages and drive technical problem resolution
* Build and maintain sound business relationships with company leaders and external service providers.
* Provide problem management, documented knowledge transfer, continuous improvements and advanced escalation support to IT operations to ensure high quality end-user support and overall customer satisfaction.
* Ensure adherence to ITIL-based operational processes and compliance with policies and procedures including those specifically applicable to Sarbanes-Oxley and FDA regulations.
* Create and maintain proper documentation of all cloud and on prem services.
* Evaluate emergent technologies to ensure best of class tools are utilized and develop strategy for upgrade path
* Oversee all disaster recovery and business continuity strategy, process, testing and technologies to ensure minimal data loss and downtimes
* Educating, consulting and influencing IT and business stakeholders to better understand existing infrastructure architecture risks, IT best practices, and infrastructure changes required to support business and IT strategies.
* Experience building and managing global networking and infrastructure teams

Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

* 7+ years as an IT Infrastructure architect including research, develop and deliver technical designs for Network, Storage, Compute, Data, Security, and Applications services.
* Successful track record of IT infrastructure architecture design, administration, execution and delivery.
* Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
* Experience working, designing, developing and architecting Amazon Web Services (AWS) environment and Azure.
* Experience working in a regulated networking environment (SOX and 21CFR11).
* Excellent organizational, communication and customer service skills with active-listening skills.
* Proven adaptability to shifting project schedules, priorities and assignments; able to make effective decisions under pressure.
* Demonstrated problem-solver with the ability to cope under pressure and coordinate multiple activities in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of employees, vendors and partners.
* Excellent written and documentation skills including proof reading and attention to detail.
* Must be a self-driven, motivated senior IT professional with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and leadership/good executive presence.
* Strong communication skills (verbal and written); effective in interaction with executive management

Other Qualifications:

* 15+ years of relevant industry experience, including 5+ years in a senior technical role.
* Biopharmaceutical company experience in fast-growing environment preferred.
* Minimum 15 years' experience managing corporate infrastructure and security within a regulated environment
* AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional or equivalent cloud certification
* Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent network certification

Education Required:

Computer Science Degree or Information Technology Degree.
