This engagement is to support a OCIO Enterprise Architecture and Portfolio Management Program. The Program provides the architecture planning and governance that drives business process improvement and aligns investment decisions and program efforts with the agency missions and strategic goals. The engagement provides a cross-department perspective that helps unify efforts, improve mission effectiveness, and improve overall efficiency of Information Technology (IT).

As a member of this dynamic and fast-paced team, you will be responsible for working directly with the Director of Enterprise Services to suggest options for managing demands, documenting the enterprise architecture, and suggesting agile and structured approaches for enterprise architecture. The position is a challenging role which requires an expert who can work with analysts and data architects, both contractors and government employees, to explain options and be persuasive in developing new EA approaches necessary to create value for government customers.

This position will outline of options for managing and documenting OCIO enterprise architecture features for easy comprehension by senior leaders. The successful candidate will enable mission and IT leaders to make investment decisions that balance and prioritize current operational demands, disruptions, and opportunities with the longer-term strategic vision of the organization. The successful candidate must be able to display excellent leadership, analytical, and interpersonal skills. This position acts as an advisor to help them better use or significantly improve the function of the technologies in use within the client environment.

Duties:

* Develop architecture, including developing governance processes, collecting artifacts, and analyzing and reporting under both client and external requirements.
* Assist with the review and guidance surrounding the development of the client's information technology portfolio and management of its respective EA.
* Prepare and deliver presentations, training, white papers, and briefings.
* Provide Technology Architecture strategy support, change management, and communications development and execution.
* Provide architectural analysis and advice to an Enterprise Architecture team, through supporting plans and processes for client and project activities, meeting facilitation, and executing based on project timelines and deliverables.
* Design and prepare technical reports, studies, and related documentation, develop charts and graphs to record results and report on client architectural activities
* Support efforts to create comprehensive methods for describing current and/or future architectures, interrelationships, and organizational processes
* Work with other architects, business and data analysts in developing an enterprise architecture for the office chief information officer (OCIO).
* Developing current, conceptual, and target state architectures and documents.
* Develop strategies for maturing the capabilities of the enterprise.
* Focuses on context, and analyzes of the current IT ecosystem to detect critical deficiencies, and recommend solutions for improvement.
* Acts as a visionary to proactively assist in defining the direction for future projects conceive strategies, solutions, build consensus, and sell/execute solutions.
* Develops guidance, road maps, principles, standards, and best practices.
