Engineering Manager, Web Authoring

Job Description

Position Summary:

As Manager, Engineering you will oversee a team of Software Engineers who will design, develop and test software for a next-generation Visual Analytics and Collaboration suite. You and your team will be challenged to leverage your creativity and experience to create the fundamental underpinnings of new products that extend customer ability to see, understand, and "reach out and touch" their large data sets in real time.

Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

* Leadership and management of the Development and Testing team including resource management, hiring, mentorship, and performance management
* Management of resources and risks to ensure on-time and requirement complete delivery of features assigned to team
* Ensuring that the products are developed following an architecture that supports the company's business plan.
* Allocation of resources to projects
* Participation in bug triage, prioritization, and assignment.
* Direct supervision of a team of developers and testers

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

* Experience developing and delivering large-scale systems in C++, Java , C# or JavaScript on Windows required (Linux or OSX would be a plus)
* Solid experience leading and participating in software development lifecycle processes
* Strong track record of delivering software as an individual contributor and as a team leader.
* Experience building solid, reusable architectures and core components of large systems
* Excellent communication skills

Education/Experience:

* BS in Computer Science or related field
* 3+ years leading teams of 5-7 engineer or more
* Experience leading highly technical teams of senior engineers on core technology projects.
