What you will do:

* Team Leadership: Build and lead a team of exceptional client-side engineers adept at building large scale frontend platform.
* Technical Vision: Re-evaluate architecture choices on an ongoing basis, in anticipation of increased scale and ever-evolving technology to meet the demands of a rapidly growing business.
* Leverage technical skills to successfully drive infrastructure & tool improvements for new products and existing processes and workflows
* Product Leadership: Define and execute the roadmap by collaborating with partners in Product, Design, and Operations.
* Serve as the team's Scrum Master, breaking down roadblocks as well as managing communications with stakeholders and dependent teams. Create a culture of continuous improvement through retrospection.

What you bring to Sumo:

* 3+ years of experience in building and leading teams including hiring, retaining, and managing performance.
* You have been a developer yourself with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience developing and scaling large scale single page applications
* You have a strong working knowledge of React and Redux Javascript frameworks.
* You have deep knowledge of the Web as a platform
* You are able to work through ambiguous requirements and make decisions to push forward and remove obstacles that prevent teams from achieving their goals
* You are highly organized. With many people doing many things in a fast-moving company, strong organizational skills-both for yourself and for the team-will be required.
* You are a master of Agile processes, continuous integration, and test automation. Ideally, you have completed formal Agile training and have managed a Scrum team.
* You possess clear communication skills, and the ability to develop positive relationships with subordinates, peers, upper management, and partners.
