Description

The Engineering Manager will provide technical leadership and systems engineering management. This role will be responsible for systems planning, system and lower level requirements development, system design, analyses and trade studies, embedded and enterprise software design oversight, system integration, system level test, and subcontractor technical management/oversight

The Engineering Manager engages in a broad range of network/system areas, such as planning, analysis, design, development, testing, configuration, installation, implementation, integration, maintenance, and management of servers and server-related technologies

Engineering Manager responsibilities:

* Ability to lead and engineer new solutions, improve existing deployments, and ensure all environmental components are operationally integrated.
* Continually monitors and tunes multiple systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
* Ensures workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions of varying complexities.
* Ensures data/media recoverability by developing and implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
* Plans and implements the modernization of servers. Develops, implements and promotes standard operating procedures and schedules.
* Conducts hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
* Develops and implements new standards, policies and procedures including image engineering and patch management
* Works closely with Network and Systems Analysts to help determine and develop the systems that will be implemented.

The Engineering Manager should have the following experience and capabilities:

* Demonstrated experience managing engineering staff.


* Demonstrated ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure, mission-critical dynamic environment.


* Demonstrated ability for oral and written communication with the highest levels of management.


* Demonstrated knowledge of technology, architecture, and technical inter-dependencies similar to that of the TOR.


* Demonstrated experience with implementation and optimization of technology lifecycle processes.


* Ability to analyze complex problems and develop solutions


* Experience establishing the design of a complex high availability infrastructure


* Previous experience drafting and reviewing architecture designs and diagrams


* Experience presenting and reporting to senior and executive level internal and customer management



Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

* Bachelors in an engineering discipline and fourteen (14) years or more of related experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more of related experience.


* 7+ years of progressive IT systems technologies including: Microsoft Server (Active Directory, Group Policy & User Profile Management )


* 7 years or more experience configuring and troubleshooting VMWare, Hyper-V


* 7 years or more of progressive experience configuring and troubleshooting Networking/Switching hardware including Cloud Based Axure or AWS


* 5 years or more experience Cyber Security Strategic Planning



Desired Skills:

* Master of Science in Systems Engineering or Graduate Degree in Systems Engineering


* Strong interpersonal skills for internal and external resource management


* Excellent troubleshooting, attention to detail, organization, communication and customer service skills.


* Ability to efficiently multi-task, adapt and stay calm under pressure to any changes or client emergencies.


* Ability to gain buy-in from internal stakeholders and motivate continued team growth
