Engineer Software II for Ademco, Inc. in Melville, NY

Responsibilities:

Responsible for end-to-end system and subsystem tests for Honeywells Lyric Ecosystem suite of devices. Design test strategies to efficiently test the functionality of apps. Perform verification and validation of product offerings. Write test plans, test cases and test reports. Execute tests using sprint test strategies. Minimizing undetected defects in preparation for release. Execute test automation scripts and analyze results. Report defects using Jira bug tracking system and assist developer in fixing bugs. Perform Root Cause Analysis on bugs that were not found on time. Reproduce defects as necessary to replicate end user issues. Collaborate on best practices to improve quality assurance efficiency and productivity.

YOU MUST HAVE:

Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field and two (2) years of experience in the position offered or related occupation. One (1) year of the required experience must include: experience in a software quality and test position; defining and developing software test strategies, test plan and test cases for functional testing of iOS or Android apps utilizing mobile testing tools such as Appium, MonkeyTalk, Calabash, UIAutomation and/or Robotium; creating and executing automated tests, investigate results and report defects using a bug tracking system; conducting functional regression testing and product testing; utilizing the Xcode, Android SDK Studio and Eclipse; utilizing backend server APIs, web services, device firmware, Jira, Contour and Agile methodology. Approximately 25% domestic/international travel.
