Responsibilities

The TV Entertainment Operations and Production Technology group oversees the technology needs of the studio, broadcast and cable networks Creative, Production Operations and Business & Legal Affairs departments. The scope for this role includes the Production Operations for NBC Entertainment, Cable Entertainment, and TV Production studios.

The primary role of the TV Production Operations Engagement Manager is to act as a liaison between business partners and IT Teams. They will perform as the subject matter expert (SME) for the business domain and conduct knowledge transfer with the development teams. This resource will be responsible for understanding, reviewing, analyzing and evaluating business partner needs.

The Engagement Manager is responsible for supporting all Production Operations project initiatives including meeting with the business, managing the analysis: gathering and documenting business requirements, managing design, testing and implementation of new projects as well as managing the on-going production support and application backlogs of all TV Production Operations applications. This role will also be responsible to collaborate with upstream and downstream processes and engagement managers. They will be responsible for understanding where business processes overlap and will need to be conscientious of the entire Production Operation business lifecycle including Creative and Business & Legal Affairs. This position will be based in Universal City, CA.

Responsibilities include:

* Direct technology point of contact for Production Operations stakeholders.
* Engage with business partners to identify needs and design in order to implement technology solutions to digitize manual business processes.
* Product manager for the Production Operations application portfolio including Entertainment vendor applications, internal Java, .Net and Ruby custom-built applications as well as Salesforce.
* Identifies new opportunities & services to enhance the systems' platform and drive more productivity.
* Partners with vendors, consultants, internal development resources, client user groups, and others to develop requirements and project manage application development projects ensuring adherence to scope, schedule and budget.
* Responsible for ownership and complete delivery of projects assigned.
* Ability to work in a matrix organization and ability to lead project teams which do not directly report to them.
* Work with the Technology Services team to support and troubleshoot issues (process, system and hardware), identify root cause, and proactively implement sustainable corrective actions.
* Coordinate on-going system maintenance and upgrades with no disruption to users.
* Ensure compliance with corporate policies, security and reviews.

The Engagement Manager will join a team consisting of high-performing individuals that execute on a broad range of activities, including elicitation and scoping, requirements analysis, systems analysis, functional architecture, interface architecture, and knowledge management.

This is a hands-on role and is expected to have very strong analytical and problem solving skills and a project management background in systems development and experience with process improvement changes. This role should be able to perform rapid analysis and decomposition of complex business information into technical process components. This role is expected to be able to perform root cause analysis, work with the appropriate teams to perform root cause analysis and to provide next steps for resolution.

As an Engagement Manager in information technology, this role is expected to be proactive and work as part of a team alongside developers, support consultants, IT infrastructure, vendors and different business verticals to adequately support the business and maintain proper alignment.

Qualifications/Requirements

Minimum of 5-7 years of application development project management, SDLC and business systems analysis experience.

Project management background, analytical, critical thinker with enthusiasm for solving problems.

Experience leading the analysis and extracting and documenting business requirements on projects, system enhancements and defects.

Organized, knows how to generate action items and communicates accordingly. Follows through and follows up.

Experience in business process documentation and design.

Project experience w/ data architecture, data warehouse and middle ware/ETL tools and technologies.

Experience with Agile methodologies, Jira storyboarding and user story documentation.

Experience leading and performing the testing on projects, enhancements and defects.

Experience documenting and executing test cases from requirements.

Strong emotional intelligence.

Professional, motivated, self-starter, independent, results oriented and takes ownership and responsibility.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; ability to work across multiple groups.

Comfortable and confident presenting in front of all levels of employees.

Ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements, including the ability to multi-task and juggle many competing priorities and deadlines.

Demonstrated ability to work well with other team members.

Ability to think creatively to come up with new solutions.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related experience.

Desired Characteristics

Quality Trained (PMP or Six Sigma Black Belt Certification)

Media & Entertainment experience

Working knowledge of Jira and Smartsheet

Data Warehouse: MicroStrategy, Power BI, Tableau and/or other BI related systems

Has a good understanding of technology trends and developments
