Job Description

Provide support and assistance to the National Guard Bureau (NGB) for planning, coordinating, training, and integrating all aspects of the National Guard Homeland Defense Domestic Operations initiatives and programs including Cyberspace Operations and Critical Infrastructure Program-Mission Assurance Program (CIP-MAA). Provide administrative, professional, and technical support required to facilitate the overall objectives of the Domestic Operations Directorate.

Specific tasks include

* Primary task is to participate in the planning, guidance, and attendance of all cyber exercises and associated planning meetings and conferences for the NG; to include traveling to exercise locations.
* Represent NGB in cyber exercise development. Facilitate ARNG, and ANG staff support and state participation. Shape and influence cyber incident response and reporting during exercise development.
* Identifies and shares recommended best practices and training standards between state NG and federal partners regarding cyber defense and cyber incident response.
* Assess contingency and disaster recovery plans.
* Maintains situational awareness to Cyber events, intelligence, and policy activities. Identifies NG equities, and shares focused reports with NG stakeholders. Identifies situations requiring action and facilitates coordinated NGB and NG response.
* Develops and shares situational awareness to NG cyber operations with NGB, and mission partners.
* Coordinate and liaise with DHS Cyber assessment initiatives/processes.
* Coordinate and support the implementation of the NG Cyber Strategy and the 30 strategic initiatives identified in the NG Strategic Plan.
* Provide advice on matters of cybersecurity and policy, including security strategy and implementation, to CNGB, NGB leadership and Joint Staff, and the States. Serve as a cyber capability resource to all NG units regarding federal and judiciary security regulations and procedures.
* Monitor and report cyber related threats and actual foreign cyber-attacks against US critical infrastructure and key resources. Produce threat and incident reports created as needed.
* Advise NGB and ARNG regarding the Cyber Protection Team (CPT) and Cyber Brigade development.
* Provide cyber expertise support to assist NG-Joint Staff and Army National Guard develop worse case and most likely cyber Courses of Action for on-going international crises.
* Interface with all levels of government, military and civilian.

Required Skills

Skills & Knowledge Required for Position

* Must have minimum of a Bachelor's Degree
* Must have experience with the National Guard
* Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
* Must have proficient computer skills (power point, word and excel)
* Must be eligible for a top secret (SCI) security clearance



Specific Skills

* Experience in applying advanced cyber principles, concepts, methods, standards, and practices in order to interpret policies, procedures and strategies.
* Must possess knowledge of information systems security operations, techniques, tools, and standards.
* Must have the ability to analyze, plan, and integrate information assurance and security guidelines and policies.
* Specialized training in Cyber concepts is preferred. Examples include: USAF Cyber 200 or Cyber 300 course or equivalent; computer network operations training; cyber security training, operational security (OPSEC) training.



Security Clearance Requirements

* Must have at least a SECRET security level clearance and must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance as required.
