Document Specialist I/II

Physical Optics Corporation is focused on creating highly innovative, next generation airborne systems, such as flight data recorders, advanced data transfer systems, and mission computer systems for military aircraft. Additional growth areas include ground systems, encryption, electronic warfare, and X-Ray inspection systems. POC is headquartered in Torrance, CA.

POC is seeking a Document Specialist I/II to join our Contracts and Publications Department. This person will be working in a fast paced environment that requires a high level of detail and quality, exceptional customer service, and knowledge of government contracting & document processing.

This position may be hired as a Document Specialist I or Document Specialist II based on experience.

What you will be doing:

* Provide cross functional collaboration between internal teams
* Maintain government client standard and custom documents
* Create and revise text productively, effectively, and efficiently
* Document formatting and processing using current boilerplates and in accordance with solicitation/contract requirements
* Ensure consistency of layout, editing, styles, and compliance with requirements throughout the proposal cycle
* Revise graphics in Illustrator, Photoshop, Power Point or other graphics software, and insert and place graphics into documents
* Partner with authors, editors and graphic designers while maintaining text, document and art version control
* File, shred, and organize/update network folders

Experience Guidelines:

* High School Diploma/ GED required. College degree preferred
* Experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry (preferred)
* 2+ years of experience with MS Word using styles, equation editor, and formatting tables
* Must have excellent knowledge and hands-on experience with Microsoft Office products, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator
* Must have strong organizational skills, be detail oriented, efficient, and have the ability to multi-task
* Solid oral, written communication, and listening skills
* Familiarity with inserting graphics
* Ability to work in a fast paced environment
* Strong interpersonal skills
* High attention to detail and quality
