Overview

The Salvation Army, an internationally recognized faith based non-profit organization is has an opening for an Imaging Specialist in the Legal Department at our Eastern Territory Headquarters in West Nyack, NY.

Reporting to the Estates Supervisor, the Imaging Specialist will scan all documents pertaining to the Legal Department into an organized system.

Responsibilities

* Prepare and maintain a procedural guideline for all tasks associated with this position.
* Maintain an imaging system in which all documents for the Legal Department are digitally scanned.
* Conduct basic quality assurance tests of scanning equipment.
* Analyze scanned data to determine accuracy and integrity.
* Index scanned images into the appropriate sub-files for ease of retrieval within the scanning system.
* Prepare materials to be scanned and shredded.
* Track and assist to resolve any problems when they occur in the imaging system.
* Repair and regenerate corrupted data files.
* Retrieve and produce documents requested from imaging system and microfilm.
* Perform special research related to the data on request.
* Assist the Assistant Legal Secretary as requested to maintain the smooth flow of information both within and without the Legal Department.

Qualifications

* Associate degree
* Two or more years of related experience.
* Must be well organized and able to function within a team environment.
* Must understand the nature of legal matters and have prior exposure to "legalese."
* Ability to verify and validate that materials are complete and accurate.
* Exceptionally keen eye for details is required
* Scanning/imaging experience helpful
