THE POSITION

Cylance is looking for a Director of Data Science to assist in leading its growing Data Science team and to help solve long-standing problems in the computer security space. We employ a cross-disciplinary team from the fields of statistics, computer science, mathematics, physics, bioinformatics, topology, machine learning and other related fields. Our focus is to push the envelope of artificial intelligence applied to solving problems in an ever-changing threat landscape.

Our researchers regularly publish and present at various global conferences and are some of the most sought-after thought leaders in the security industry. As part of the Research group at Cylance, you will leverage your problem-solving and analytical skills to further our capabilities, as well as publish and present new and novel research.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

* Build and develop core intellectual property through the research and implementation of new approaches in machine learning
* Identify patterns and trends from large, high-dimensional datasets
* Approach security from an adversarial mindset in an effort to circumvent prediction systems
* Work with internal product and engineering teams developing data science solutions into new security products
* Manipulate complex, high-dimensional, large-volume data into digestible and actionable reports
* Technical leadership to assist the Data Science team's projects and day to day operations.
* Identify/hire/mentor new team members

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

* MS minimum / PhD preferred in a relevant discipline - w/ at least 4+ years of experience
* Interest and/or experience in cybersecurity, product development and data visualization
* Experience in software for data manipulation, analysis and visualization
* Prior experience applying machine learning algorithms at scale in products
* Experience with large volumes of data, algorithms and prototyping
* Requires the ability to work independently with substantial latitude for action and decision while maintaining focus on achieving optimal outcomes as part of a collaborative development effort
* Proven experience leading a Data Science team focused on delivering high quality mission-critical products

ABOVE AND BEYOND

* Relevant research contributions leading to the advancement of Machine Learning in the public domain
* Experience applying data science to security, malware analysis, or related cybersecurity problem areas
* Software engineering experience and familiarity with one or more of the following (C/C++, C#, Java, Python, Assembly)
* Familiarity with harvesting data from different endpoints, databases, APIs and other sources of information
