The Director, Engineering Systems provides the leadership for the entire Engineering Systems portfolio that are used to support the product development and engineering groups. This individual is responsible for the Enterprise wide 3DX implementation at Karma and works with the various product engineering groups to solidify business requirements, technical and infrastructure requirements, improve processes, track milestones, manage resources, and manage issues and risks. Establishes the Engineering Systems architecture vision with supporting product roadmaps and project plans to drive the company in an efficient and effect manner towards the improve use of Information Technology for vehicle product design. Identifies, develops and deploys automation solutions to simplify and improve the engineering design process.

* This is an IT role that will work in our Irvine, CA headquarters.*

Responsibilities

* Responsible for the Enterprise wide 3DX business transformation project implementation
* Lead a team of PLM systems engineers and developers
* Manage the scope, schedule, and execution of the PLM project portfolio, working with project sponsors to identify project priorities and agree on scope and schedule of all projects.
* Lead business systems analysis and process redesign expertise within the business areas.
* Lead configuration efforts for tools & systems software in the PLM realm to satisfy business requirements
* Facilitate research, resolution, and response to highly complex system/process related issues within our suite of hardware/software products
* Lead system emergency situations to define/implement workaround processes, corrective action, communication, and system clean-up activities.
* Direct the System Engineers(s) with development activities; defining business requirements, design, testing, documentation, and implementation of system enhancements within their module/area of knowledge.
* Facilitate support services to other areas as required.
* Meet with business partners to identify project alternatives and make recommendations and clearly defines/documents business requirements.
* Drive the design and development of technology solutions which meet security, network, infrastructure/operations, and customer support requirements.
* Plan and coordinate system, integration and acceptance test efforts.
* Ensure development of documentation that effectively feeds training and change management activities.
* Conduct post-installation system review.
* Facilitate a continued strong working in house knowledge of PLM, Software Architecture tools, CAE, CAD and ECM products, services, and industry trends.

Qualifications

* Experience with managing a project portfolio
* Experience with project management and managing small teams of system engineers
* Experience with establishing an PLM architecture vision with supporting product roadmaps and project plans to drive the company in an efficient and effect manner towards the improve use of Information Technology
* Extensive business and systems analysis skills that support applications development
* A good understanding of development and operational and processes within a company.
* The successful candidate has experience with Product development methodologies and engineering lifecycle activities
* Experience with PLM, CAE, CAD, EEA, Software development tools, ECM, visual composer components, and integration to ERP
* Bachelor's degree in business related area or information systems or equivalent working experience
* Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate to various levels of management as well as with internal business partners and external customers/suppliers of Karma Automotive.
* Strong system knowledge with 5+ years of experience within PLM systems areas
* Basic knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015) and Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001:2015), as applicable.
