As Director of E/E System Architecture, you will lead the Karma E/E System Architecture function that provides program level and long-term direction of the E/E System Architecture. Based on overall Company strategies and plans, the Director proposes the basic systems philosophies and directions related to planning and architecture for acquiring technology, major components, tools as well as processes. This includes driving execution of architecture initiatives, evaluating current architecture, and driving the organization's E/E System Architecture function to the future to deliver business value aligned to the strategy. The Director of EE Systems Architect will report to the VP of E/E Engineering

Responsibilities

* Leads the development of E/E System Architecture, technology roadmaps and development of enterprise strategic initiatives.
* Assumes extensive responsibility for projecting and planning future architectural, technology and human capital needs.
* Provides senior technical leadership to E/E Systems and the enterprise including being conversant with the future direction of E/E systems, provides thorough competitive analysis and benchmarking of competing solutions and options.
* Works closely with all other module groups in identifying, evaluating, and selecting specific hardware and software platforms which support the business plans.
* Keeps abreast of new developments and forecasts of future Automotive, E/E technology trends.
* Advises Systems and Programming management regarding the technical direction of E/E System Architecture development and closely reviews compliance with that direction.
* Works closely with all department to ensure requirements, market and technology trends are supported in E/E Architecture design, and within the system and business constraints.
* Participates with suppliers and partners in the assessment of advanced technology, new components, etc.
* Evaluate and recommend options consistent with industry best practices.
* Mentor and lead system engineers.

Qualifications

* Over 10 years of experience with vehicle E/E System engineering/architecture.
* Automotive experience at an OEM or Tier 1.
* Strong leadership skills, planning, excellent communication, virtual-team engagement, time management, negotiation and presentation skills are essential.
* Results-oriented, proactive, confident under pressure and demonstrated success in defining, selling and implementing Architecture.
* Ability to match the business needs/drivers with the correct technical solution.
* Demonstrated ability to handle complex projects with tight timing constraints, providing examples of such scenarios throughout one's career.
* Experience with model based system design, vehicle electrical systems, power management, power distribution, vehicle messaging, CAN/FD, LIN, and Ethernet.
* Demonstrate strong teamwork skills and solve issues by developing consensus and win-win situations.
* Proficiency on ISO 26262 and other vehicle regulatory requirements.
* Expert knowledge of systems engineering principles, hardware and software design concepts.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to positively interact with all levels of organization
* Basic knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015) and Environmental Management Systems (ISO 14001:2015), as applicable.
