Job Overview This position will report directly to the Vice President of Global Engineering IT. He/she will be responsible for the transformation of our internal and public HPC cloud infrastructure that delivers industry leading compute utilization, agility and flexibility enabling hardware chip design teams globally. This includes collaborating closely with CAD and hardware design team stakeholders (VP, Directors, Functional Leads, etc.) to define and deliver workload efficiency improvements in Qualcomms hybrid compute cloud infrastructure globally. Responsibilities will include leading the architectural innovation in all layers of the HPC infrastructure that includes but not limited to compute servers, storage, data center space, power and cooling efficiency. The selected candidate will need to deliver industry leading TCO, flexibility and agility of the HPC infrastructure supporting a highly dynamic workload profile for chip design. Your responsibilities will include but not limited to: Leading multiple teams architects, technical leads, compute hardware and software engineers in optimization efforts of EDA workloads and compute infrastructure. Defining strategic roadmap and delivering to the vision of best-in-class service capabilities to Qualcomms engineering teams. Driving robust processes for requirements specifications, prioritization and solution development that supports a large worldwide user base. This includes active management of user groups and stakeholder alignment of capabilities roadmap and delivery plans. Defining and implementing use case driven system validation methodology and robust release management processes. Implementing business and system indicators for usability, performance, reliability, availability and gap closure in the compute grid. Completing ongoing industry benchmarking of HPC capabilities in semiconductor industry and influence internal and external stakeholders on roadmap and priorities. Follow that up with flawless execution of roadmap. Identifying and enabling analytics capabilities needed to drive optimization efforts and visibility into compute utilization efficiency in on-prem and public cloud HPC environments. Reporting performance indicators/KPIs in monthly/quarterly management meetings within IT and Engineering at the director and VP level. Candidate may lead several projects &/or programs simultaneously and influencing multiple stakeholders in strategy execution. Own vendor technical engagement for all HPC products and solutions in scope for the organization feature enhancements, post-deployment defect closure, etc. as needed. * 5+ years supervisory or leadership experience.
* 3+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., VP level and above)." id="hdnMinimumQualifications" />* Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of IT-relevant work experience OR 10+ years of IT-relevant work experience without a bachelors degree.

Preferred Qualifications Qualifications: 12-15 years experience in enabling and supporting High Performance Computing (HPC) platforms specifically in semiconductor hardware design environment running EDA tools. Candidates without semiconductor EDA/HPC experience will not be considered. Ability to translate business needs to cost effective IT solution strategy that includes application of appropriate information technologies in solution architecture definition and deployment. Demonstrated experience managing high performance teams. Effective cross-functional collaboration skills (multiple business units, IT, CAD, hardware design Engineering). Ability to identify and champion win-win strategies that balances scope and schedule expectations of customers with realities of budget and resource/skill availability. Evangelizing a culture of continuous innovation across the organization, relentless focus in defining architectural transformation initiatives with clearly articulated business value and delivering industry leading HPC capabilities that drive product development efficiency and flexibility. Outstanding communication, organization and interpersonal skills. Ability to work at all layers within the enterprise. Demonstrated experience working with senior management in a corporate environment. Demonstrated experience in business process streamlining and transformation that includes disciplined approach to digitized services enabling. Masters degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Science Excellent project/program and team management skills.
