BAML is looking to add newer offerings and enhancements to its existing suite of algorithmic products. This technical and quantitative person be a part of the Product Development Team in the front office. The candidate will work alongside other Algorithmic developers, consulting, IT, and quants in the Quantitative Strategies Group (QSG) on the upgrade and implementation of BAML's core electronic algorithmic products and routing strategies. This person must have an excellent understanding of the electronic market place and experienced delivery in writing algorithmic products and trading processes. It is critical for the candidate to have good communication skills to not only work with the groups mentioned earlier, but also to help positively influence those groups towards developing the product. This person may also pitch in where needed across IT and the business to put forward products and processes to benefit the platform and the equities franchise. Being a team player to help the franchise and aid in improving the process of product development is a must.

The candidate will also have opportunities to work with counterparts in other regions. The plan is to pair this candidate with a similar person in London to work on cross regional initiatives where possible.

Required expertise:

Programming languages such as C++ or Java. Prior experience with market making or writing event based trading strategies with an in depth knowledge of market microstructure. Scripting languages such as python to help automate processes is a plus Working knowledge of analytical languages such as Q or R is a plus. Knowledge of order book management, exchange market data feed handlers, and exchange order APIs is a plus.
