Responsibilities

IOMAXIS is looking for senior level Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Software Engineers to join our growing team supporting Software Defined Radio (SDR) application development. Showcase your talent working on challenging projects and developing innovative solutions. You'll play an integral role carrying out a range of responsibilities to include:

* Designing, developing, and testing real-time signal processing algorithms on advanced RF transceiver platforms in support of building RF digital communications solutions
* Implementing signal processing algorithms on heterogeneous platforms including GPP, GPU, FPGA, and MPSoC
* Verifying integrity of DSP implementations to meet functional and operational requirements
* Performing communication systems engineering analysis to optimize interference mitigation, detection sensitivity, demodulation accuracy, and establish link budget requirements
* Supporting new advances in SDR interface engineering and novel application of telecommunication standards, protocols and topologies

Qualifications

Required skills and experience:

* B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline with 8 years of related experience in the following areas:
* Developing real-time DSP software solutions using C and C++ programming languages supporting detection, demodulation, decoding, transmission, and geolocation of RF communication systems
* Working with RF communications transceiver equipment
* Implementing signal processing algorithms on heterogeneous platforms including GPP, GPU, and MPSoC


* Demonstrated success building operational RF communication solutions
* Strong understanding of RF communication theory and applications of DSP to RF communication solutions
* Experience working within a Linux OS and shell environments
* Good verbal and writing skills with attention to detail and ability to create technical documentation and plans
* Work well in both a team environment and individually

Clearance: Must be clearance eligible; Current TS with SCI eligibility is a strong plus.

Desired skills and experience:

* Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline and 10 or more years of related experience in the following areas:
* Applying principles, methods, and applications of communication theory such as signal processing, decision theory, estimation theory, and modulation-demodulation
* Implementing FEC CODECs (BCH, Reed Solomon, Convolution, and Turbo)
* Demonstrated capability in scientific programming (e.g., C, C++, Python) within a Linux OS environment


* Knowledge of Software Defined Radio (SDR) frameworks and standards such as Software Communications Architecture (SCA), GNU Radio, REDHAWK and X-Midas
* Experience using multi-threading to develop real-time software solutions
* Experience developing link budget and BER analysis to support system engineering tradeoffs and establish requirements
* Experience with wireless communication Protocols (e.g., RLC (LTE), MAC (3GPP LTE, 802.11)), and Standards (e.g., VITA 49.x, IEEE 1900.x, IEEE802.11, 3GPP LTE, 3GPP UMTS, TETRA PMR, Blue Book SS7).
* Experience with computer networking Protocols (e.g., TCP/UDP/IP, RTP, MPLS, NDN) and Technologies (e.g., distributed systems, Internet of Things, real-time systems, routing and switching).
