Overview

The Digital Content Specialist is responsible for primary creating, developing, and implementing digital content-related projects for the Office of University Advancement. The Specialist will produce web design, graphic design, electronic forms, and manage presence across social media platforms.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Design and Production:

* Designs and implements digital media such as forms, graphics, and videos to support planning, fundraising functions, and data collection
* Works with University Advancement and the Alumni Services team to acquire, technically produce, and distribute video content through web-based and social media channels. Using independent judgement, creates videos using raw material/content and produces concise, visually appealing, and engaging products that meets needs for the fundraising efforts.
* Provides graphic design in the development of digital and print communications pieces. Understands concepts, develops, revises, and finalizes design options and incorporates into digita media products to support advancement efforts.
* Collaborates with University Advancement and Alumni Services staff members on the creation, maintenance, and execution of a web and social media-based communications plan and content for all business functions under University Advancement (development, continuing education, alumni services, operations). Ensures that digital media is aligned with set strategy.

System:

* Develops an understanding of both the user interface and technical specifications for web-based products such as iModules
* Serves as technical expert and liaison with web-based vendors to troubleshoot issues and implement solutions
* Collaborates with vendor support and technical teams to be current on available functionality and to consult on future functionality options and makes recommendations for process changes
* Ensures ongoing accessibility compliance monitoring and necessary remediation for web-based products
* Represents end-user needs/functionality with vendor products to design the best technical solutions to meet end-user goals (fundraising, data collection, events, public relations/marketing)

Other:

* Provides training to staff as needed across all product platforms
* Supports data entry and analysis across through all data systems
* Creates quarterly reports that inform business functions on the effectiveness of efforts through various vendor products, especially analytical reporting of user activity on website and social media accounts

Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Required:

* Bachelor's degree, preferably in communications, marketing, or related field
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in communications or marketing, including 2 years of experience with graphic design website content management, video production, and media communications management.
* Proficiency with data tracking, reporting and analytics
* Strong proficiency in the use of Adobe Premiere Pro video production software, Adobe Suite with experience in iMovie and digital management software such as Sprout Social or Hootsuite required
* Demonstrated experience with iModules alumni management software or similar product strongly preferred
* Interpersonal communications to facilitiate user interviews, group discussions and information processing
* Time management and allocation of resources to meet deadlines
* Experience documenting user specifications, test scenarios and operating procedures
* Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and set goals independently
