Overview

PURPOSE

The Digital Business Development/Partnerships Manager acts as connector between the business units and the start-up company ecosystem. This includes on one side to gain the understanding about business challenges and trends while on the other side building a network in the startup environment to attract the right partners to help defining innovative solutions. The incumbent can leverage an institutionalized process which allows to test the innovative solution through short proof of concept projects in the real LafargeHolcim market environment - in a successful case generating a leading reference client to the startup and a positive value contribution to LafargeHolcim (venture client approach).

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
* Understands the current and future business model architecture of LafargeHolcim in all major parts of the value chain across the major segmentations of our footprint (starting with current focus topics bag markets, RMX, cement plants)
* Helps shape the vision for the digital "north star" for the future business model architecture of LafargeHolcim in all major parts of the value chain across the major segmentations of our footprint (starting with current focus topics)
* Represents LafargeHolcim's business model architecture and its digital "north star" to open innovation partners, including digital communities, startups, technology providers, network and collaboration partners and individual internal innovation initiatives
* Represents the open innovation idea and potential cooperation models across all geographies, levels and functions across LH, with emphasis on our current focus topics
* Supports the identification and initial connect between LH functions / countries and cooperation partners
* Supports the successful scoping of a cooperation idea and creates buy-in from internal and external stakeholders
* Supports the cooperation process including interaction with core stakeholders like legal, finance, strategy, procurement, and various country stakeholders
* Champions new ways of working and country requirements in discussions with regional and global IT, especially regarding agile / customer centric development, digital rules of play, execution speed and cost
* Supports the budget process of the digital partnership unit
* Closely networks and coordinates with Growth & Performance and regions
* Closely networks with external innovation leaders and digital entrepreneurs and tech advocates to help build a resilient network of digital ambassadors for LafargeHolcim
* Actively supports a new, network-based organization model at the LH digital function, including in depth, transversal collaboration with all formal and informal team members of the LH digital community
* Creates an agenda and call for action for change in ways of working including cross-silo collaboration, technology literacy, and agile project implementation

Performance criteria● Number of transfers: the number of new solutions the digital partnership unit transfers to suppliers for LafargeHolcim, measured by the purchase orders issued● Adoption quota: the percentage of start-ups that continue a business relationship - such as further purchase orders, a joint venture or acquisition - with LafargeHolcim after conclusion of the first purchase in relation to number of transfers

RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER JOBS:

● Country Functional teams, Country Digital teams and community, Corporate Digital team, Corporate Functions and teams (G&P, Legal, Strategy), Global and Regional IT teams● Open innovation partners, including digital communities, startups, technology providers, network and collaboration partners ● Customers, Suppliers

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Educations: Master's degree in Engineering, Science, Business Administration, Economics, Digital Marketing or similarSpecific work experience: 2-5 years

▪ Good understanding of the global building materials landscape and the way it can be leveraged to bring the LH digital strategy to life▪ Experience working in a start-up environment and understanding ways of working, opportunities and pain points.▪ Working experience with digital business models in particular in the areas of customer experience and platform models▪ Experience working within operations / functions demonstrating good business and financial acumen▪ Ability to partner, network, manage / navigate with multiple internal and external stakeholders▪ Ability to bring in ideas and solutions to solve problems to unlock opportunities with potential partners▪ Technical / functional skills: ▪ Proven project management and stakeholder management skills▪ Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners▪ Ability to understand business models and value drivers fast to identify business cases▪ Strong analytical and financial skills ▪ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills▪ Good knowledge of and ability to navigate the LH organization▪ Understanding of LH markets and business environments with previous experience in working with multiple countries
