You will actively collaborate with software developers, product managers, test engineers, administrators on projects. You should be able to identify, troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and effectively, sometimes under pressure. Responsibilities include automation/tools development, capacity planning, and performance tuning.

You will a passion for reliability/security as you work with management to set priorities and track operational metrics. Excellent communication skills and teamwork is a must!

Responsibilities:

* Design and develop automated build, release, and deploy toolchains.
* Prototype and develop cloud native architecture solutions for application needs; particularly with AWS.
* Automate development, test, and production system configuration for efficiency and reliability.
* Ensure strong release management for DevOps artifacts and release cadence across multiple environments.
* Design and implement security technologies related to perimeter security, web application scanning and firewall systems.
* Drive development of robust automated logging, monitoring, and alerting systems with tools such as SumoLogic, CloudWatch, AppDynamics, Icinga, Thruk.
* Configure and troubleshoot Linux systems including Cloud VMs, on-prem VMs, and physical systems.
* Troubleshoot critical development and production issues (Build, deploy, critical web services failures).
* Advocate or security and automation with central IT organizations.
* Provide occasional 16x5 on-call shift support for production operations.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Science or Engineering and a minimum of 2 years of experience in Software Reliability Engineering/Systems Engineering/DevOps role is required.
* Experience automating software build and deployment to development and production systems with 1 of the following languages: python, ruby, java, go, etc. Python/Ruby experience is preferred.
* Strong experience with configuration management, monitoring and systems tools (i.e.: Salt, Ansible, Nagios, Graphite, Fluentd, etc.).
* Experience with Linux systems and internals (Debian/Ubuntu preferred) and Linux package management tools e.g.: rpm, deb & fpm etc.
* Working knowledge of AWS Cloud infrastructure (EC2, RDS, VPC peering, S3) or hybrid environments (OpenStack, Kubernetes).
* Proficiency with source control, continuous integration (e.g.: git, jenkins).
* Good understanding of networking and related protocols, must have a strong understanding of fundamentals (HTTP, DNS, TLS).
* Exposure to Security technologies related to perimeter security, web application scanning and firewall systems.
* Experience troubleshooting problems and working with a team to resolve web scale production issues.
* Working knowledge of docker/container technologies.
