Do you have hands-on experience in VMware products like vSphere, vSAN, vCloud director, NSX, VMware Integrated Openstack (VIO), vRNI, vRealize Operations Manager? Do you have a passion for networking? A deep understanding of physical (switch VLAN)/virtual networking (dvSwitch)? VMware virtual networking to physical network mapping? Solving network issues and network performance testing? We need all this and more in this key position.

Responsibilities

* Supports product delivery from concept inception to operational support. Ability to provide quality, procedural, systematic management.
* Interfaces and coordinates tasks with internal and external technical resources. Collaborates with Project Managers and technical directors to provide estimates.
* Maintains current knowledge of field. Keeps abreast of new technologies of computerization and automation.
* Superb communication. Develops clear and concise documentation of complex scope. May develop user documentation.
* Understands and follows enterprise change control and incident management policies with integrity.
* Provides support during non-working hours at times to ensure the operation of production systems in a 24 x 7 environment.
* Provides third-tier support center assistance to trouble-shoot and resolve system/database/infrastructure issues (ongoing production support).

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

* Ability to learn quickly
* Full-cycle technology implementation experience
* TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting experience
* Experience in physical Hardware deployment, management along with networking
* System engineering or technical consulting work experience
* Python (or equivalent) script based automation using VMware product APIs
* Understanding of Network Function Virtualization (NFV)
* VMware certification - VCP preferred
* Experience with Agile methodology and DevOps
* Deep understanding of security protocols and standards
* Background with software and security architectures
* Deep understanding of firewalls, load balancing technologies, networking
* Experience introducing new technology or updated versions of current technologies into the organization
* Powershell and Unix shell scripting ability
* Strong Unix O/S administration knowledge
* Deep understanding and demonstrated ability to secure and harden Unix, and Linux operating systems
* Ability and experience with migrating physical and virtualized systems
* Experience working with Dell Warranty support

Qualifications

* Bachelor's in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, with 2 years experience; or equivalent experience.
* 3+ years of experience in VMware technology. Experience in VMware lab set up, configuration and integration. Experience in creating test plans and test executions to validate VMware integrated platform preferred.
* 3+ years' experience in the Infrastructure Security Engineer role preferred
* Experience in working in a product development environment.
