Job Description

Freddie Mac has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Development, Tech Lead within our Single-family IT group to work on cutting edge technologies to modernize legacy applications and migrate them from on-premise datacenter to AWS.

We are seeking a motivated individual who will play an integral role in our transformation into an Agile & DevOps focused team. This person will be responsible to implement and provide technical solutions on migrating applications from traditional VM based environments to OpenShift PaaS platform and/or AWS by utilizing DevOps principles and leveraging existing/new Open Source tools. The individual is expected to work under limited direction and independently determine and develop approaches to solution.

Your Work Falls into These Primary Categories:

Evaluate and Prototype

* Partner with Architecture and Tech Strategy team to identify new technologies
* Collaborate with application teams to prioritize the new tech evaluation backlog
* Work with IT partners and industry leaders to prototype and develop reference implementations

Adoption and Rollout

* Conduct roadshows to showcase the reference implementations
* Work with application team in adopting the reference implementation
* Provide training and SME support

Cloud-Based Solution Implementation

* For a given application perform Gap analysis between current and target states
* Implement architecture approved patterns to bridge the gap
* Capture new reference implementation patterns in a central repository

Qualifications

* Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent
* 12 - 15 years of experience in Solution, Design and Development of applications using J2EE framework, Spring Boot, RESTful services and Angular
* 3-5 years of experience in Designing and Implementing cloudbased solutions preferably AWS
* Hands-on experience of Microservices using J2EE and Web Services (Java, XML, jQuery JavaScript, HTML, OOA and OOD Concepts)
* Development and support skills in middleware technologies (Springboot, WebLogic, Apache, Tomcat, Boss etc.)
* Good knowledge of database concepts and integration with business application development
* Experience with scripting languages like Unix, Python
* Hands-on experience using Docker on OpenShift or Kubernetes on AWS
* Understanding/Working knowledge of ELK/Splunk
* Understanding requirements and design for the build and deployment of enterprise applications
* Good working knowledge of Jenkins, Antifactory, TeamForge GIT, Groovy DSL, Ansible/Chef/Puppet
* Fast learner of new technologies and tools
* Work independently contributing to the success of assigned project(s)
* Participate in discussions with project teams to understand the application design, build process and help deploy applications in target environments
* Provide inputs for effort estimation.
