VMware Cloud Services is a set of SaaS services allowing customers to manage, govern, and secure applications across all clouds - AWS/Azure/GCP public clouds (hyperscalers) and vSphere based clouds (VMC on AWS, etc). The goal is to provide an expanding set of cloud native, SaaS services to enable a customer's multi-cloud strategy.
We are looking for a passionate self-motivated individual and team player to create, develop and manage technical content with the delivery skills of a traditional evangelist and great organizational skills. The role provides a good balance between working with AWS/Azure/GCP users, dev communities, VMware Product/Sales/Marketing teams, and eco-system partners (Gitlab, Cloudbees, Hashi, etc). You will have the creativity to generate grass-roots attention and support for VMware Cloud Services and the support for Public Cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) Operations through the industry and eco-system
In addition to content, you will also work with VMware Sales to target high value customers by identifying, incubating and developing deep technical relationships with Public Cloud Operations users and devops teams. This will involve development of interesting and unique solutions targeting and solving problems related to application deployments, and public cloud operations.
Finally you will help aggregate your knowledge from user interactions and key knowledge of specific technology trends, and depth in developing solutions to influence features and potentially new products (SaaS services) managing applications and general operations in the public cloud.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
* Help to shape and deliver on our strategy for how to drive adoption of our VMware Cloud Services (SaaS based services written 100% on AWS).
* Delivering compelling presentations, product demos, sample solutions, technical blogs, and discussions to drive adoption of VMware Cloud Services.
* Creating tech talks, live streams, white papers and tutorials about emerging technologies and industry developments for migrations.
* Gaining industry recognition and credibility as a regular attendee, panelist and keynote speaker at technology conferences, trade shows and press events
* Maintaining a strong and credible presence in social media channels relevant to developers
* Scaling, extending and driving global expansion of existing community focused programs, for example: Hackathons, Communities etc.
* Collaborating with internal teams to help define the migration road map, market positioning, and program initiatives
* Maintaining a strong and credible presence in social media channels relevant to migrations
* Work collaboratively with Product Management, Technical Marketing and Engineering during the development, launch and continuing refinement of VMware Cloud Services.
* Maintain working knowledge of peer and competitor products, both commercial and open source.
Basic Qualifications
* 3+ years of technical pre-sales experience/technical product marketing.
* 3 to 4 years experience in software development or working closely with developer audiences (e.g. as an evangelist, developer relations etc)
* Superior verbal and written communication skills
* The ability to work cooperatively with, and gain the respect of, software developers
* Ability to travel (up to 25%) and the ability to work autonomously
Preferred Qualifications
* Strong business and technical acumen and understanding of emerging disruptive technologies, like cloud computing, open source software, or software as a service
* Strong customer focus, ownership, urgency and drive
* 7+ years in the technology industry in a technical, product management, or evangelism/advocacy role
* 3+ years' experience with 1 or more public cloud provider
* Strong presentation skills and the ability to articulate complex concepts to cross functional audiences, with the ability to dive-deep on technical and architectural details with customers
