DevOps Engineer

Location: NYC

The Co-Pilot team at Xaxis is looking for a passionate technologist with a strong background in DevOps and an expertise in AWS who's excited to work on cutting edge data science and algorithmic products in the advertising industry. Our team is tasked with building and maintaining a large number of systems running on AWS, from single boxes all the way up to clusters to handle big data. We need an engineer with python coding experience who knows the ins and outs of DevOps and can take our technical operations to the next level. You will be a member of a scrum team, but your contributions will be more holistic as opposed to oriented toward your specific scrum team's goals. You'll work collaboratively with software engineering to deploy and operate our systems, help automate and streamline our operations and processes, build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring and operations, and troubleshoot and resolve issues in our dev, release, and production environments. We need you to help us:

* Make our releases foolproof, painless, and as close to continuous as

possible
* Improve the developer experience and workflow, especially when coding

on complex integrated systems
* Help us track the important stuff and anticipate problems before they

happen
* Let the engineers focus on coding instead of systems

Technical skills:

* 2+ years DevOps experience
* AWS (EC2, auto scaling, sec groups, EMR, cloud formation, RDS, etc.)
* python coding/deployment
* JavaScript/Node.js/webpack deployment
* Docker/Kubernetes
* SQL
* Ansible knowledge a plus
