Job Description

We are looking for a Dev Operations Engineer to drive platform and operational management across the group for products including video, mobile, OTT, and web. They will be responsible for establishing and maintaining IT best practices, improve environment stability, plan architecture rollouts, and assist with cross organizational platform support. The successful candidate will be passionate about media and technology and have great hands-on technical, leadership, and communication skills. This candidate will drive operational excellence across the entire technology stack at Sinclair Digital and help steer test-driven development, agile processes, and a design-first engineering culture that is constantly experimenting and learning.

Responsibilities:

* Linux administration
* Cloud management: AWS/GCP/Azure
* Serverless architecture
* Create new detailed process and architectural documentation
* J2EE Back end experience
* Experience with multi-tier applications
* Relational Databases
* Understanding of High Availability Architectures
* SOA Concepts and Architectures
* Familiarity with Big Data concepts
* JAVA/Python/javascript
* Configuration management: Puppet/Chef/Ansible/CloudFormation/Terraform
* DNS and other internet traffic shaping concepts
* Compute instance, and container auto scaling
* Cloud Management through APIs
* Understanding of Disaster Recovery Scenarios
* Availability and Geographic Zone Concepts
* Understanding of Content Delivery Networks (CDN)
* Openstack
* Kafka/Redis
* Docker coupled with ECS, EKS, and/or Kubernetes
* Continuous integration: Jenkins/Bamboo
* Source code management: Bitbucket/Gitlab/Github
* Continuous monitoring: Nagios/Splunk
* Continuous testing: selenium
* Video delivery experience strongly preferred

Requirements:

* 5+ years of hands on experience with enterprise technologies
* Has proven experience with cloud-based infrastructure, scaling, high-availability and secure, mission-critical systems
* Experience with J2EE as a back-end platform, REST based web services, and automated testing
* Exposure to concepts such as NoSQL databases, Relational Databases and schema design, business intelligence concepts and tools, and event-based messaging and architecture will be important to success
* Exposure to other server-side languages and tools such as node.js, angular.js, PHP, are also a plus, particularly with regard to scaling
* Enterprise experience with AWS, and other cloud-based architecture components, continuous integration, infrastructure as code, and continuous deployment will be necessary to be successful in this role
